Kelly Smith, owner of Curious Office and ImageKind.com (both Web sites you should be visiting if you come to my site - meaning, you’re probably like-minded with me), has his own Web site at www.kellysmith.com that’s well worth reading.

The other day, he posted a short blurb about a Tiki bar that a friend has in his home in the Sound. Kelly, along with some other designers, put together a Web site, coasters and t-shirts to promote this in-house bar (private, not a public pub). I’ve always thought that personal design work is a great way to keep your skills sharp, have fun with friends, and more.

Take a quick visit to Kelly’s site - You’ll be glad you did.

Update (2007-05-30): Kelly and I trade links from time to time (he’s done it once at least, that makes me feel like I’ve got something good to say now and again!), and I must admit, he’s done it again. Another great post to read for anyone that’s been following anything I’ve said over the last ten years.

Three good reasons to by RNWK is a great read - go now!

OSNAP.net may be ready for a major change, but Real has some proven worth - and as Kelly points out in his article, some very real business value that should last for a long time to come.

Don’t you just love living in this century?

Often I get junk mail, both virtual and physical.

Yesterday, I received an invitation to a dinner (free!) as long as I sat through a 90-minute eBay sellers conference (a sales pitch). In addition to the free dinner (for me an a guest - my spouse under their recommendation), I would receive a free mp3 player.

In the photo below, can you identify the mp3 player the promoters are advertising? It sure looks like an Apple iPod Shuffle (1st gen). I thought, “they couldn’t really be giving away an Apple iPod Shuffle, really?”  Well, according to the 3 different photographs of the iPod, I was under the assumption that in trade for the 90 minute sales speech, I would receive some dinner and a couple iPod Shuffles (the invitation explained that not only would I receive the benefits of attending, my spouse or guest would as well).

Of course, I was still skeptical after reading all the promises, so I skipped ahead to the fine print on the back of page 3. “The mp3 player offered is a Flair Player.” Have you ever heard of a Flair Player? I haven’t either, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t an Apple branded product, using photos from Apple’s marketing materials.

So, as my title stated: Are you kidding me?

First came the helmet and gloves:
The Helmet
Then, the jacket:
The Jacket
Next, the boots:
The boots
Finally, I’m hoping the bike is next!
